Contract Types

I offer both private contracts and funded placements, covering all ages from infants up to 12 years of age. Infants, wrap-around and holiday care are generally private contracts, although invoices may be paid for through tax-free childcare vouchers from your employer. Private contracts can be flexible to meet the needs of your family, although I do place some restrictions depending on contract type - please see the relevant sections below. Funded placements are offered in partnership with Midlothian Council and are offered following a 38 week ’term time’ model.

What Standards are followed here?

All learning within my setting is play based and tailored to the needs and interests of the children I am working with. The national standards and frameworks are used to guide and inform my practice and the teaching opportunities I provide, alongside child-directed play and learning.

Within my setting I follow different national standards of care dependant on the age and stage of the children attending. For all children and young people I adhere to the Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) standards, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met.

Introduction

I have had a long term interest in working with children with additional support needs, rooted in having a younger sibling with severe hearing impairment and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Through my teenage years I spent a number of years as a volunteer at local additional needs playgroups before attending college and university.

When I registered as a childminder I decided I wanted to help provide a childcare service to my community which met the needs of all children, including the amazing children who are living with additional support needs and would like access to responsive and tailored care.

Overview

Within my childminding service I have the capacity to take care of up to six children. Within this constraint I have the potential to care for a maximum of three children not yet of school age, including a single infant under the age of 12 months. Any remaining childcare spaces may be used by school aged children in wrap-around or holiday care sessions. These services are available between 07:30 and 17:30. Contracts include full time, part time and wrap-around services during term time, and the potential for school holiday cover. Where your childcare needs are not covered within these constraints, for example infant twins, please get in touch to discuss this with me directly.

About Me

My name is Anastasia Seales, although most people call me Stacy. I live in the Mauricewood area of Penicuik with my husband Andrew; my two children Thomas and Eleanor; and our cats Harper and Raya. I have been a stay-at-home parent to my children since 2012, watching and helping them to grow and develop into amazing individuals who are comfortable in expressing who they are, their likes and dislikes, their interests and preferences.
